
CHICAGO, IL — A 27-year-old Shorewood man was fatally shot Friday morning in Chicago, police said. Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 700 block of East 42nd Street at around 4:51 a.m. Friday. Police said the man was unresponsive and had two gunshot wounds to the head and one to the arm.
Initially described as a "John Doe," the man was later identified as Justin Kapoor of the 1600 block of Parkside Drive in Shorewood, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Kapoor was found in a car parked near Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Bronzeville. Witnesses told police Kapoor was seen arguing with another man when the man pulled out a gun and shot him. The report said both men had tattoos on their head, neck and arms. Kapoor was one of eight people shot over a 12-hour period in Chicago Friday, the Tribune said.
