Shorewood Man Tried To Strangle Woman: Complaint

The Will County Sheriff's Department investigated the crime.

SHOREWOOD, IL - A 43-year-old Shorewood man is no longer in the Will County Jail after being arrested last week on domestic violence charges. Jade Williams, who lives in the 1100 block of Moreland Drive, was taken away in handcuffs by the Will County Sheriff's Department on Thursday. Williams has been charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery. Court records indicate Williams strangled a member of his household and made physical contact with the woman "of an insulting or provoking nature."

A Will County judge set his bail at $35,000. After spending about 30 hours in the county jail, Williams was set free on Friday night after coming up with 10 percent of his bail.

While out on bail, Williams cannot have contact with the victim and he was ordered by the judge not to possess any guns or dangerous weapons.
