Shorewood Police Find Gang Member with Loaded Gun

When a police officer pulled the car over and smelled marijuana, the car was searched and the gun was found.

A Plainfield gang member who was out driving around with a friend was caught by police with a loaded gun.

According to a report from The Herald-News, Naseem Bustami, 23, of the 2800 block of Sun Valley Drive in Plainfield, was with a friend when Shorewood police pulled the vehicle over for a noisy muffler on Route 59.

An officer smelled marijuana and when the vehicle was searched, a loaded .38-caliber revolver was found under the front passenger seat, according to the report.

Bustami was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a street gang member. The other man in the car did not receive any charges.

Bustami’s bail was set at 10 percent of $100,000.
