Shorewood Scoot Walk/Race Begins 8 a.m. Saturday
Saturday's walk-run starts near the Village of Shorewood Police Department.

SHOREWOOD, IL - You don't have to be an Olympic gold medalist to participate in Saturday's Shorewood Scoot. The event is open for runners and walkers and begins at 8 a.m. near the Shorewood Police Department, 903 West Jefferson Street. The 3.1-mile course ends at the police department.
Saturday's run is presented by the Shorewood Area Chamber and Athletico. The event aims to benefit the Make Your Mark Foundation and the Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce Business Development Program.
According to event organizers, this year's course will wind through a paved Shorewood subdivision. Water and aid stations will be set up along the course. Parents can bring strollers.

For adults, the price is $35 and registrations will be taken on the day of the race, although organizers can't guarantee they will have enough racing T-shirts available for people who didn't register before Aug. 25.
