Shorewood Senior Community Awarded Best Independent Living and Best Assisted Living From U.S. News

The Timbers of Shorewood has been recognized with the “Best Independent Living Award” and the “Best Assisted Living Award” in U.S. News & World Report's 2026 Best Senior Living ratings, further solidifying its position as a leader in senior living in Joliet area. This is the second year in a row The Timbers has been awarded the “Best Independent Living Award.”

U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Senior Living ratings are based on consumer-satisfaction data derived from surveys of more than 540,000 residents of senior-living communities and their family members. For the 2026 awards, U.S. News assessed more than 3,000 senior living communities.

In addition to the best senior living awards, The Timbers has received six high performing emblem awards in the following categories:

These accolades recognize communities that score in the top 25 percent for each category while maintaining a high overall score.
