August 14, 2019

On August 8th, the Shorewood-Troy Library experienced an act of vandalism. A rock was thrown through a pane of the picture window on the upper floor. We are grateful to the Shorewood Police for their quick work in identifying a suspect quickly, who has subsequently been arrested. All of the officers that our library staff have dealt with have been professional and caring during the situation.

The Library's insurance company is working quickly to make the library whole again. The window will take some time to manufacture, because it is an unusual size, but the process to build and install it has been started. For the safety of our public, we will be repurchasing books and furniture which were damaged. Insurance will be covering those expenses.
