Shred-a-Thon, Drug Take Back Event on Tap for May 2
Troy Township residents can shred personal documents and take back unwanted prescription drugs at same event.

Residents will have the chance to shred personal documents and drop off unused or expired medications at the same time at Troy Township’s semi-annual shredding event on May 2.
Between 9 and 11 a.m., township residents can bring their personal papers and documents to the Troy Township offices at 25448 Sell road, Shorewood, and have them shredded by ShredX.
Each resident must show proof of township residency. Shredding is for personal papers only. Residents are limited to two letter file boxes or copy paper boxes. Business shredding is prohibited.

Officers from the Shorewood Police Department will also be at the shredding event to collect unused and expired medications, including:
- Prescription Medications
- Over-the-Counter Medications
- Medicated Ointments
- Medicated Shampoos
- Liquids Containing Medications
- Prescription Inhalers
- Over-the-Counter Inhalers
Items NOT Accepted:

- Bio-Hazardous Materials
- Sharps/Needles
- Radioactive Materials
- Anything Containing Mercury
- Medical Devices
- Other Household Wastes
Only residential medication items will be accepted. Police advise that residents black out their names or personal information on labels with a permanent marker.
The Shedding Event and Medication Disposal Drop-Off Event will take place simultaneously on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at 25448 Seil Road in Shorewood.
