Danny Sawyer doubled leading off the inning and one out later moved to third on a Chris McClendon single. Doug Sanders singled Sawyer home to extend the advantage to 2-0. Former Gateway Grizzlies’ star Logan Parker put the nail in the coffin with a three run shot and it was 5-0 River City.

Hector Pellot hit a solo homer in the sixth, but River City responded with a run of their own in the bottom half thanks to a couple of Chris Pack wild pitches.

The Slammers look to get back on track Saturday night as they send former Rascal Ryne Miller to the mound. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
