Social Security 101 Workshop at the Timbers

Lindsey Driscoll, a financial adviser with Waddell & Reed, Inc., will present a workshop titled, Social Security 101, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Road. This is a free event and is open to the public.

Many people are retired or are nearing retirement and are concerned or confused about how social security works.

“You have more filing options than you may think,” Driscoll said. “I will answer any and all questions such as: Should I delay my benefits? Should I file and suspend? Should I file restricted? How do benefits work if I am divorced? Will Social Security be enough to live off of in retirement? and many more.”

Lindsey graduated from the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign with a Business-Finance degree. She holds Series 7 & 66 licenses, as well as her life and health insurance licenses. She is an active member of Dynamic Professional Women’s Network (DPWN), Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC), and Women Entrepreneur Secrets of Success (WESOS).

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Residents, whose needs may change, are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate care.
