St. Patrick's Day Ballroom Dance at the Timbers

St. Patrick's Day Ballroom Dance with the Del Bergeson Orchestra at the Timbers of Shorewood will be free for the entire community.

The phrase “Sure and begorra” comes from Ireland and, loosely translated, it means “Would you look at that!” or “Give attention to that.”

The Timbers of Shorewood wants the public to give attention to its “St. Patrick’s Day Ballroom Dance” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Road.

Music is provided by the Del Bergeson Orchestra, and the public is always welcome at The Timbers’ free monthly ballroom dances.

He played trombone and was a vocalist with the Jay Mau Orchestra, and he sang the Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Sammy Davis Jr. standards.

“Everyone has a great time at our monthly ballroom dances,” said Kim Jackson, activities director at The Timbers. “There’s a lot of good energy in the room during these events.”

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Residents, whose needs may change, are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate care.
