Saturday, June 6, 2015 will be no ordinary day at the Joliet Public Library as it is transformed into the 6th Annual Star Wars Day - a family friendly festival of galactic proportions complete with over 80 costumed Star Wars™ characters, games, live music, prize drawings, movie prop exhibits, and more. The event will kick off at 11 a.m. in Downtown Joliet with a parade of costumed characters supported by the American Legion Band. Claim your spot on Ottawa, Cass or Chicago Street!
The JPL is pleased to welcome authors, John Jackson Miller and Adam Bray this year. They will also be welcoming back several artists, including, Dave Dorman, Steve Palenica, and Mikey Babinski. A portion of Clinton and Chicago Street will be closed off for the day’s activities, including live music, food vendors, and kid’s games. The fun will extend to the Joliet Historical Museum where guests will find kid’s games, professional light saber demonstrations, and a presentation on cryogenic freezing.
The 6th Annual Star Wars Day will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6 at the Main Library (150 N. Ottawa St. Joliet, IL). This event is free and open to all ages. It is made possible through partnerships with the City of Joliet, and the Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and through generous sponsorships from the Friends of the Joliet Public Library, D’Arcy Buick-GMC, DK Publishing, NuMark Credit Union and Gauthier Healthcare.
