Another person was with the Plainfield teen, but he doesn't know anything about him except his first name.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield teen fled from a single-vehicle rollover crash late Friday afternoon because he was on probation.

Tyrell J. Beavers, 18, of the 2800 block of Adobe, was traveling at 5:58 p.m. on Vision Ave. in Plainfield near Meadow View Elementary School when the red Chevy Cavalier he was driving struck the median, hit a tree and rolled over, according to Joliet Police Department Deputy Chief Ed Gregory.

Officers went to the home of the car’s registered owner and were then able to make contact with Beavers, who told police there was another person in the car with him, but only knows him by his first name, Tenzel.

“He doesn’t know where he lives, he doesn’t know a phone number,” Gregory said.

The registered owner said she let Beavers use her car and he was going to get gas. The owner also confirmed that another person was in the car, but also doesn’t know any information.

Beavers told police he ran because he was on probation for theft and was scared, Gregory said. He also said it was his first accident.

Beavers received citations for speeding and improper lane usage.
