Teen Running From Cops Spotted Dropping Pistol: Police
The serial numbers on the pistol had been defaced, police said.

A teen running from the cops after a traffic stop on the Hill was spotted dropping a pistol as he fled, police said.
After Will County deputies recovered the .45, they discovered the gun’s serial numbers had been defaced, police said.
The young man who dropped the pistol, 18-year-old Deamonte Hunter of Lockport, was charged with the aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a firearm with defaced serial numbers, possession of a firearm by a known gang member, and possession of a stolen firearm.

Hunter was riding in a car that blew through a stop sign at the intersection of Riley Avenue and Central Park place about 9:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
A deputy pulled the car over, spoke with the driver and three passengers, and asked Hunter to step out of the vehicle, police said.

Hunter got out but then ran off, police said, and dropped the .45 along the way.
Hunter was taken to the Will County jail after he was captured. His bond was set at $250,000.
