The Timbers of Shorewood donated $7,000 to the Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter today as part of #GivingTuesday.

The Timbers of Shorewood donated $7,000 to the Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter today as part of #GivingTuesday. The money was raised during multiple Timbers events including the Timbers’ Little Goblins Activities Room this Halloween, the Hippity Hop Easter Egg Hunt, and the Timbers Christmas Craft Fair, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 7.

“We are proud to support the Alzheimer's Association with this donation,” said Kevin Young, executive director of the Timbers of Shorewood. “Our events and fundraising were extremely successful this year and we were able to raise $3,000 more than last year. To date, The Timbers of Shorewood has donated more than $20,000 to the Alzheimer's Association.”

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community that provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Residents whose needs may change are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate and compassionate care. Furnished apartments are also available for short-term stays.
