The Troy Middle School 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team took the IESA Sectional Championship February 12, beating Liberty Junior High School 50-29. The team will now head to State competition Saturday, February 15, with their first game against Lemont’s Old Quarry Middle School.

A win there would take them to the semifinals that afternoon.
The team advanced to sectionals after defeating Joliet’s Hufford Junior High School February 6, 45-31, in the IESA Regional Championship game.

Team members are Jimmy Anderson, Richard Gavins, Troy Hudak, Cael Karczewski, Drew King, Kyle Koerner, Adriel Lestz, Breyon Luckett, Justus McNair, James Pilapil, Michael Smith, Jax Todd, Drew Wills and Owen Young.
The coach is Clint Reames.
Troy Middle School is a Troy Community School District 30-C school.
