Troy Has Open House Sunday At Fire Station No. 2

SHOREWOOD, IL - The Troy Fire Protection District wants to get the word out to area residents to consider taking a few minutes out of your Sunday schedule to visit one of the Shorewood area fire stations. The Troy Fire Station No. 2 is holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Station No. 2 is located at 25454 Seil Road, which is near Cene's Four Seasons Park.

According to the department, Troy plans to display several fire apparatus for adults as well as children to touch, climb and take plenty of photos. During the four-hour event, several of Troy's firefighters plan to be on hand to conduct live demonstrations geared toward promoting the importance of fire safety. A number of interactive fire safety displays are also in the mix. Sunday's event is being offered in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, a public awareness campaign, that starts October 8.
