Village Marks Arbor Day with Tree Giveaway

Five winners will be drawn from the pool of entries to receive a free tree in observance of Arbor Day.

To mark the occasion of Arbor Day, officials at the Village of Shorewood will be giving away trees.

Five trees—donated by The Home Depot—will be given away to the winners in the sixth annual tree drawing giveaway contest conducted by the Village. Trees will be delivered to each of the winners' homes by the public workds department, according to the Village website.

And the trees must be planted on private property, not in parkways, according to the Village website. All entries must be received by officials at Village Hall by April 19, 2013. Winners will be announced at the board meeting on April 23 and notified by phone.
