Washington Ends Slammer's Seven-Game Streak
Slammers manage only four hits in game two of doubleheader.

It had to end at some point.
The Joliet Slammers’ (48-31) season long winning streak of seven games was halted by the Washington Wild Things (34-44) in game two of Tuesday’s doubleheader as the Slammers fell by a score of 5-0.
Chris Sidick singled to start the bottom of the first against Slammers’ starter Kevin Crimmel (5-4). A sacrifice bunt moved him to second. Luis Rivera followed with a RBI single and it was 1-0 Washington.

Crimmel kept Washington quiet after that until he hit the wall in the fifth. Blake Ochoa walked and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Sidick doubled him home to make the score 2-0. Doug Thennis doubled Sidick in and the Slammers intentionally walked Rivera. Scott Lawson chased Crimmel from the game as he singled in Thennis to extend the lead to 4-0.
Chris Pack entered the game and was greeted by a Tim Battle RBI single. The run was charged to Crimmel who went four and a third innings, giving up seven hits, five runs, all earned, two walks, and one strike out.
