Who Wants to Work? Shorewood's Got $110,000 For New Village Administrator

Firm retained by village to help fill position is advertising a generous starting salary.

If you're out of work or looking for a job, the village of Shorewood has one paying six figures for somebody with at least five years of experience and a bachelor's degree.

The firm the village retained to find a new village administrator — for a price not to exceed $22,000 — has posted a help wanted ad on the website govtjobs.com.

The posting gives a brief background of Shorewood ("The DuPage River runs through the community, which provides a picturesque location in wide open spaces offering a superior quality of life in which to live, work, and raise a family") before getting into the good stuff: a $110,000 starting salary with "excellent benefits."

To rake in this kind of money, the successful candidate is "expected to have a strong background in economic development, labor relations/negotiation, infrastructure development and financial management."

Not to mention a bachelor's degree and five years of experience. And the new village administrator is going to have to live in Shorewood.
