Yoga at The Timbers of Shorewood
A certified yoga instructor is coming to The Timbers of Shorewood.

Christi Smith teaches Gentle Yoga from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 in the ballroom of , 1100 N. River Road, . The public is welcome to participate for $5 per session. Timbers’ residents may attend at no cost.
Yoga is a form of movement that adapts to one’s needs and abilities. It deals with the whole being. One of the great things about yoga is it’s so adaptable to different populations with diverse physical abilities and needs.
The benefits of gentle yoga for seniors are much the same as those for the general populations: increased muscle tone, balance, strength and improved mood. Breathing exercises increase lung capacity. Participants can expect their posture to improve and they may sleep better. Yoga can counteract stress, too.
