18-Year-Old Charged with DUI, Police Scare Off Thief

Burglary from Motor Vehicle
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle on 5100 block of Fargo Avenue between Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 3:59 a.m. and removed the victim’s wallet.
While on patrol, Skokie Police saw a white or Hispanic man, 5’10” to 6’1” tall wearing a black football jersey with the number “81” in white lettering attempting to open a vehicle’s door on the 7500 block of Frontage Road on Sept. 14 at 3:30 a.m. When police attempted to stop the man, he took off running west and disappeared from view. While canvassing the area, police recovered items taken in a separate burglary to motor vehicle.
Someone entered an unlocked Dodge on the 7300 block of Lavergne Avenue between Sept. 13 at 9:15 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. and removed several checks.
Residential Burglary
Someone entered a residence on the 4500 block of Church Street on Sept. 14 between 5 and 9:09 p.m. and removed various electronic items. It is unknown how the person(s) entered the home.
Theft
Someone stole a locked box containing CDs from a home on the 8100 block of Floral on Sept. 13 between 12 and 2:00 p.m. Exterminators were in the home prior to the theft being discovered.
Criminal Damage to Property
Someone threw a brick through the front window of a residence on the 4200 block of Golf Road between Sept. 7 at 11 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 12:19 a.m.
Identity Theft-Aggravated
Someone attempted to use the victim’s identity to make fraudulent transactions for money on the 8000 block of Kedvale Avenue on Sept. 7 at 4:56 p.m..
DUI, Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor
Alexander M. Fraas, 18, of Glenview, was issued a Skokie ordinance citation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence greater than .08, and illegal transportation of alcohol.
