3 Sworn in as Skokie Firefighters

Skokie Fire Department welcomes Joshua Eggebrecht, Kevin Morphey and Salvatore Prato.

SKOKIE, IL - The Skokie Fire Department added three new firefighters this week.

Joshua Eggebrecht, Kevin Morphey and Salvatore Prato were all sworn in during Monday’s Village Board meeting, according to a Facebook post from the Skokie Police Department. They will spend the next nine weeks at the NIPSTA Fire Academy, where they will learn basic firefighter job skills and attain their Basic Firefighter Certification from the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.

After graduating from the Academy they are scheduled to work a 40-hour week to gain an understanding of Skokie Fire Department operations prior to being assigned to a 24-hour shift.
