4 Charged With Cannabis Felonies: Skokie Crime Reports

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested. Readers are reminded an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations that are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

HOME BURGLARY
Unidentified people burglarized a home in the 8300 block of Kolmar Avenue during the overnight hours on Jan. 24-25.

BURGLARY
Someone forced open a garage service door between 7:40 a.m. on Jan. 24 and 4:50 p.m. on Jan. 24 in an attempted theft.

BATTERY
A battery occurred between Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 at The Grove of Skokie in the 9000 block of Lavergne Avenue but no complaints were to be signed.

BURGLARY
Someone broke out the front door of the Mobil Gas Station in the 8400 block of Skokie Boulevard and stole an undetermined amount of cash during the overnight hours on Jan. 26-27.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY
An aggravated battery occurred in the 9600 block of Gross Point Road between 10 and 11 a.m. on Jan. 27.

IDENTITY THEFT
Someone stole a wallet from a purse while its owner was watching a movie. A debit card from inside the wallet was later used for several purchases.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Someone removed the wheels and tires from a vehicle parked in the 8100 block of Crawford Avenue in Skokie between 6 p.m. on Jan. 30 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 31.

ARRESTS

Pierre V. Green, 23, of the 6200 block of South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 10 a.m. on Jan. 26 at the Cook County Criminal Court building and charged with retail theft.

A 51-year-old Westmont man was arrested at 11:18 a.m. on Jan. 26 in the 5200 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving without a license.

Monique D. Cavallero, 48, of the 2100 block of Dewey Avenue, Evanston, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the Cook County Criminal Court building and charged with battery.

Unique E. Benjamin, 19, of the 300 block of 31st Street NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa was arrested at 8:24 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with retail theft.

Marissa Marie Hazelwood, 29, of the 1900 block of Hope Court, Lynwood, was arrested at 2:09 a.m. on Jan. 27 in the 8700 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08.

Fidel M. Ventura, 35, of the 7500 block of North Damen Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 4:28 a.m. on Jan. 28 in the 3100 block of West Howard Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08.

Gregory Tyrone Jackson, 31, of the 4900 block of Louise Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 6:40 p.m. on Jan. 28 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with identity theft, obstructing justice, driving under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08, with a suspended drivers license and other traffic offenses.

Luis A. Munoz, 35, of the 3700 block of West Giddings Street, Chicago, was arrested at 10:24 p.m. on Jan. 28 in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with retail theft.

Ali Jafar Al-Rifaei, 24, of the 800 block of Elm Street, Algonquin, was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the 7400 block of Lincoln Avenue and charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of possession of between 10 and 100 grams of cannabis.

Derek Zhengting Chen, 18, of the 20200 block of Blauer Drive in Saratoga, California, Nasreddine Mechta, 21, of the 4700 block of North Kenton Avenue, Chicago, Michael Joseph Monsees, 21, of the 4400 block of West Wilson Avenue, Chicago, and Luis A. Heller, 18, of the 2600 block of North Menard Avenue were all arrested as part of the same incident on the morning of Jan. 30 in the 4500 block of Dempster Street and charged with possession of more than 100 grams of cannabis and delivery of more than 30 grams of cannabis, both felonies.

Constantine Peter Housakos, 20, of the 9200 block of Kedvale Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 3:43 p.m. on Jan. 30 in the 4200 block of Dempster Street and charged with felony possession of a fraudulent ID card.

Hugo Sierra, 27, of the 8900 block of Central Park Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 8:32 p.m. on Jan. 30 in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with resisting an officer.

Nathan R. Palmer, 18, of the 9100 block of Lawler Avenue, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 31 in the 7900 block of Lincoln Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting police.
