3 Drug Arrests, Including 60-Year-Old Man Accused Of Fleeing, Drug Dealing And Gun Crime: Skokie Crimes

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of police activity and of those recently arrested. Readers are reminded an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations that are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

GUNS & DRUGS

Robert R. Gutowski, 60, of the 6700 block of North Seeley Avenue in Chicago, was arrested July 7 at 8:50 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue as part of a narcotics investigation conducted by the Skokie Police Special Enforcement Team. A handgun and wide variety of illegal drugs were recovered from a hotel room, according to police.

Gutowski was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of drug equipment, possession of controlled substances (cocaine, heroin, hydrocodone, oxycodone, xanax), delivery of those substances and aggravated assault to an officer and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer (for allegedly driving away when told to stop and nearly hitting an officer.) He was being held without bond ahead of an Aug. 1 court date.

The following two drug arrests occurred during the same incident, according to police...

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Jill Justine Holcombe, 48, of the 6700 block of North Seeley Avenue in Chicago, was arrested July 7 at 8:49 p.m. in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with one count possession of a controlled substance. Her court date was set for July 26.

THEFT AND BATTERY

Nisren Khalid Ahmed, 67, of the 8700 block of Skokie Boulevard, was arrested July 5 at 7:45 p.m. in the 7300 block of Niles Center Road and charged with retail theft and aggravated battery. Her court date was set for Aug. 14.

Dubert B. Cardenes-Torres, 45, of the 5800 block of N. Nagle Avenue in Chicago, was arrested July 5 at 1:44 a.m. in the 8000 block of Lincoln Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level above 0.08. His court date was set for Sept. 12.

David Rodriguez, 29, of the 200 block of Dodge Avenue, was arrested July 9 at 12:10 a.m. in the 8000 block of Lockwood Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. His court date is Aug. 9.

DUI

Victoria O'Donnell, 59, of the 700 block of Prairie Avenue in Wilmette, was arrested July 8 at 4:53 p.m. in the 9600 block of Gross Point Road and charged with driving under the influence. Her court date was set for August 2.

RETAIL THEFT

Elizabeth Kyong Mi Chung, 52, of the 5200 block of Fargo Avenue in Skokie, was arrested July 7 at 6:38 p.m. in the 9600 block of Skokie Boulevard. Her court date was set for July 27.

Johnny A. Dominguez, 22, of the 7100 block of S. Spaulding Avenue, was arrested July 6 at 8:30 a.m. in the 7300 block of Niles Center Road and charged with hit and run, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving without a valid license. His court date was set for July 20.

DUI

Chris M. Lynch, 44, of the 2600 block of Central Avenue in Evanston, was arrested July 5 at 11:44 p.m. in the 9600 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. His court date is July 19.

Syed M. Hassan, 26, of the 8800 block of Niles Center Road, was arrested July 4 at 6:26 a.m. in the 8400 block of Christiana Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said he was pulled over after committing several traffic violations. His court date was set for July 26.

RESISTING

Bryton R. Kabak, 22, of the 600 block of Pine Street in Wilmette, was arrested July 4 at 3:57 p.m. in the 9500 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with resisting or obstructing an officer or firefighter. His court date was set for July 20.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Beth Rae Harris, 36, of the 900 block of Crain Street in Evanston, was arrested July 4 at 6:20 am. in the 4900 block of Hull Street and charged with criminal damage to property after allegedly damaging a television during an argument. Her court date was set for Sept. 5.

DUI

Arturo Martinez-Cruz, 55, of the 500 block of Sherman Avenue in Evanston, was arrested July 9 at 11:39 a.m. in the 3700 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. his court date was set for September 28. (Photograph not available.)

DISOBEYING POLICE

Sdenly Pompilus, 21, of the 8800 block of Forestview Road, was arrested July 3 at 10:01 p.m. in the 8700 block of Trumbull Avenue and charged with disobeying a police officer. His court date was set for August 16. (Photograph not available.)

DUI

David John Hollander, 60, of the 6700 block of Navajo Avenue in Lincolnwood, was arrested July 3 at 11:37 p.m. in the 8300 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. His court date was set for Aug. 2. (Photograph not available.)
