Skokie Bike Network In Search Of 'Meaningful And Memorable' Cycling Stories

The fourth annual Tales from the Trails event will feature original stories inspired by cycling experiences.

SKOKIE, IL — The Skokie Bike Network is looking for stories inspired by cycling experiences for its fourth annual Tales from the Trails event.

In past years, the event has connected the community through real-life experiences from people riding bicycles.

"Each story has its own flavor. Some reflect on lifelong experiences and recollections, or personal and family connections that have involved cycling or a bicycle. Some are humorous accounts of specific rides or incidents. All have touched on something meaningful and memorable," Charlie Saxe with the Skokie Bike Network told Patch.

Some past stories include a story about a chance encounter with a Chipmunk, a family's adventure in Philadelphia, and a retelling of a ride inspired by Shakespeare.

The event is scheduled for July 12 at 11 a.m. at Sketchbook Brewing Co. at 4901 Main St. in Skokie.

Anybody who has a story to tell is welcome to submit their story by emailing SkokieBikeNet@gmail.com. Story submissions will be accepted until June 1.
