SKOKIE, IL — The Skokie location of national restaurant chain The Capital Grille will close by the end of this month, officials told Patch.
The last day of business at the Westfield Old Orchard shopping center location will be May 31, according to the chain's communications manager, Leah Santiago.
"Closing this restaurant is a difficult business decision, and it is one we made very carefully and thoughtfully, particularly because it impacts our team members and our guests," Santiago said. "We’re doing everything we can to help every team member find a new job, potentially at one of our other Darden restaurants in the Skokie area."
The Capital Grille is owned by parent company Darden Restaurants, which owns several other restaurant chains, including Olive Garden, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and Yard House.
In its most recent earnings report, Darden reported that its total sales increased 5.9 percent to $3.3 billion in its fiscal third quarter. The company also recently announced it would close all Bahama Breeze Island Grille locations by the end of 2027 due to underperformance.
Darden operates four other The Capital Grille locations in Illinois:
