SKOKIE, IL — The Skokie Police Department announced it issued 20 citations over Memorial Day weekend during a recent traffic enforcement campaign.
During the time period, police arrested two people for driving under the influence.
Over Memorial Day weekend, police issued:
“Thanks to the efforts of our officers, more drivers and passengers were reminded to buckle up, helping to prevent injuries and save lives,” said Sgt. Melissa Russell. “Every citation and safety check reinforces the message that seat belts work.”
The Illinois distracted driving campaign is funded with federal traffic safety funds administered by the Department of Transportation.
