SKOKIE, IL — Service on the Purple and Yellow lines is temporarily suspended due to debris on the tracks, the Chicago Transit Authority announced.
According to the CTA, extreme weather caused debris to fall on tracks near Dodge on the Yellow Line and near Central on the Purple Line.
"Consider other service alternatives that may serve your trip, such as nearby bus routes or using buses to other rail lines," the CTA said.
Some Metra trains on the Union Pacific North were also canceled or severely delayed due to high winds.
Shuttle buses are available from Howard to Skokie and Howard to Linden to provide connecting service throughout affected areas.
"We are working to restore service as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding," officials said.
