SKOKIE, IL — Skokie residents can now help choose the village's 2026 Business of the Year, with the Consumer Affairs Commission opening nominations for the annual recognition program.
Officials are asking residents to nominate a favorite local business by Sept. 30 using an online nomination form. The Consumer Affairs Commission encouraged residents to consider which store, service or business provides the most outstanding service to them.
The program highlights businesses that make an impact in Skokie through service and community presence.
Any village business providing goods or services is eligible for consideration. Any Business of the Year winners from the past three years are not eligible, limiting the field for this year's award.
In 2025, FLX Move Pilates was named Skokie's Business of the Year. The Consumer Affairs Commission recognized FLX Move for its strong community spirit, investment in Skokie and sustainability practices.
The annual award has gone to a mix of retailers, restaurants, arts groups and service providers in recent years. Previous winners listed in the announcement were Sketchbook Brewing Co. in 2024, Soul Good Coffee in 2023, Culver's of Skokie in 2022, Turning Point Behavioral Care Center in 2021, Kaleidoscope Dance in 2020 and Skokie Theatre in 2019.
