SKOKIE, IL — Skokie residents can now track the village's 2026-2029 Strategic Plan through a new interactive dashboard launched by the Village of Skokie.
The dashboard gives community members a public look at the plan and the village's progress toward five strategic goals: Village Services for Now and the Future, Everyone Has a Place In Skokie, Community Vibrancy, Great Governance, and Financial Stewardship.
According to the village, the plan goals were informed by community and stakeholder engagement. Each goal includes specific initiatives and detailed action plans developed by the Village Board and staff.
"The Village's 2026 to 2029 Strategic Plan reflects the priorities and aspirations we heard directly from our community," said Mayor Ann Tennes. "The launch of this public-facing plan dashboard makes it easy for residents and stakeholders to see how those priorities are being put into action. Progress has already been made toward several plan initiatives, including establishing a Youth Commission, which held its first meeting on August 31. I look forward to building on this progress as we implement the plan and ensure Skokie is a vibrant, welcoming and financially strong community where everyone can thrive."
The village said creating a public-facing dashboard is itself one of the plan's initiatives. According to the village, the tool is meant to strengthen accountability, support data-driven decision-making, and show the village's commitment to measurable results for the community.
The dashboard includes interactive charts with descriptions and status updates for plan goals and initiatives. It also includes progress bars showing the percentage completed for each initiative.
The village said the dashboard will be updated quarterly to track progress on goals and initiatives and to highlight key accomplishments. Updates will also be shared through the village's eNewsletter, The Scoop, the NewSkokie print newsletter, and village social media channels.
The strategic planning process began in July 2025, according to the village. It included an environmental scan, community and internal surveys, 12 focus groups, a public visioning session and an open house. The Village Board adopted the final Strategic Plan on March 16, after community input helped shape the goals, initiatives and action plans included in the document.
