Crime Tip Hotline – Junior High Poster Contest
In January 2013, over 50 Skokie students from Old Orchard and Lincoln Junior High schools participated in a poster contest to promote the Skokie Police Department Crime Tip Hotline, which was initiated in August 2012. The effort brought Skokie teachers and Skokie Resource Officers together to engage students about the importance of working together in the community while promoting awareness of an important Village resource.

Students learned that anonymous calls can be made to the Crime Tip Hotline at 847/933-TIPS (8477) to report suspicious circumstances or criminal activity 24-hours a day and leave a message with information that could assist the police with their investigations.

Students were then asked to create an ad to promote the Crime Tip Hotline. The winning poster was by Eddin Djelovic of Lincoln Junior High, 8th grade. Student artwork will be on public display at the Skokie Police Headquarters, 7300 Niles Center Road, through the summer season.
