
NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore)’s Women’s Board of Skokie Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Janet H. Davis, BSN, MS, MBA, PhD, RN, as the new President of the 40-member volunteer organization. Dr. Davis has served on the Women’s Board for five years.
“We are so pleased to have Dr. Davis at the helm of the Women’s Board of Skokie Hospital,” says Murray Ancell, Executive Director of NorthShore Foundation. “We are confident the Board will flourish under Dr. Davis’ leadership and will continue to be a tremendous asset to the Foundation.”
Dr. Davis’ penchant for healthcare took her to Georgetown University where she earned a BSN; Boston University where she earned an MS in Nursing; then to Chicago where she attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for her MBA; and finally to Loyola University Chicago where she earned a PhD in Educational Psychology. She stayed in the university environment during her professional career, serving as the Associate Dean in the Robert Morris University School of Business Administration, Director of Academic Affairs Programs and Director of the Center for Learning Excellence at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing, and Academic Dean at Concordia University/West Suburban College of Nursing.

Currently she serves as the founding Dean, College of Nursing and Health Studies at Robert Morris University. Since her inauguration as Dean, the division has grown to include five associate degree majors, a bachelor’s degree in applied health sciences and a graduate degree in healthcare administration. An esteemed author of 50 publications, Dr. Davis is a frequent contributor to many prestigious healthcare journals.
The Women’s Board was established in 2000 and joined NorthShore Foundation’s Auxiliaries following NorthShore’s acquisition of Skokie Hospital on January 1, 2009. The Board sponsors community health and wellness programs and screenings for the communities served by NorthShore Skokie Hospital.
