Village of Skokie Backlot Bash - Let the fun begin!

Village of Skokie Backlot Bash

The Village of Skokie, together with the Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie (IMODS), the Skokie Chamber of Commerce, Skokie Public Library and the Skokie Park District will co-present the Backlot Bash on Friday, August 24 from 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, August 25 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, August 26, from noon to 8 p.m.  Oakton Street will be closed from Friday, August 24 at 10 a.m., through Monday, August 27 at 2 a.m.  

The Backlot Bash will have activities for all ages to enjoy, including live music, carnival rides, a classic auto show, a business expo, a 5k run on Saturday, bingo and an outdoor sidewalk sale.  Food and beverage vendors will be available throughout the event including a separate beer tent.  Family friendly activities and games will be held at the Skokie Public Library and entertainment will be shown at the historic, Gorilla Tango Skokie Theater throughout the weekend. The Rotary Club of Skokie Valley also hosts a Pancake Breakfast at the Backlot Bash Sunday morning. 

The event will be held in a closed off, two-block portion of Oakton Street, between Lincoln and Laramie Avenues adjacent to Skokie Village Hall, 5127 Oakton Street. In addition, most parking lots within two or three blocks of the Backlot Bash will be closed in order to host event attractions.
