Baby Boy Missing After Mom Found Dead in Skokie Home

Police are looking for 16-month old Joshua Powell, who police suspect may be with his father.

UPDATE 10 p.m. Thursday: 10-month-old Joshua has been found and is safe. Police are still looking for Jermaine Powell, his father.

SKOKIE, IL - A baby boy is missing from a Skokie home after his mother was found dead there Thursday morning.

Police responded to a home in the 8000 block of N. Keating Ave. just before 10:30 a.m. for a well-being check when they found Catherin M. Benyamin, 31, dead of unknown causes, according to NBC Chicago.

Benyamin’s son - 10-month-old Joshua Powell - was not present when police responded. Authorities are attempting to find out if the boy is with his father, Jermaine Powell.
