September means back-to-school and the changing of the seasons, but for restaurant executive David Mitria it means his customers are changing as well. Some of his seasonal customers - students & teachers - are heading back to school, while other students are coming back to schools in Chicago.
David is managing partner of Barn And Company and also Director of Marketing for its sister properties, but years ago when he went back to school he attended Lincoln Jr. High, then Niles West, then he left town for Augustana College.
During his younger school days he worked at the local Jewel Foods by Touhy & Central, and as he got older he worked at Bar Celona in the Wrigleyville area of Chicago.

Now that David’s with Barn And Company (on Wrightwood in Chicago) he works with Director of Operations Jason Felsenthal & pitmaster Gary Wiviott in this smokehouse & BBQ restaurant, but David has also run into former classmates who are current restaurateurs in Chicago: George Manta & Dino Sakkas.
When not working David enjoys many sports and he’s a single dad with a daughter who just went back to school. (David’s on right in photo.)
