Barnes & Noble Unveils New Store At Westfield Old Orchard

The new bookstore is located just around the corner from its original store at Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie.

SKOKIE, IL — National bookstore chain Barnes & Noble celebrated its grand reopening at Westfield Old Orchard just under a month after its original location closed.

The bookseller's previous store closed in January as part of the ongoing renovation of the shopping center. It officially opened for readers to enjoy on Feb. 25.

“We are very pleased to remain in Old Orchard. Our booksellers have done an amazing job setting this new shop up in just three weeks," Barnes & Noble CEO James Daunt said. "Westfield Old Orchard has been an exceptionally successful bookstore location which we look forward to improving upon further in this new Barnes & Noble.”

The Skokie location is the first of four new Barnes & Noble bookstores to open in Illinois this year. A new Hyde Park store is set to open this month and two other stores on State Street and in Oak Park will open this summer.

Old Orchard's new store is two stories and is nearly 23,000 square feet. It offers its familiar assortment of books, toys, games, magazines, gift items and more.

“We are thrilled to continue serving our Old Orchard community and excited to sustain and grow our book lovers here in Skokie. We eagerly await to welcome customers into our vibrant new space," said Sarah Kane, the store manager of both Old Orchard locations.
