Run to See LOVE, LOSS and WHAT I WORE

Before it's too late, see Love, Loss and What I Wore

I went to see the limited engagement of Love, Loss and What I Wore, loved it, and found it was closing (moving on to other cities) after the December 31st performance.

So, this is a cautionery tale to put on  your best running shoes and get over to the Broadway Playhouse at 175 East Chestnut Street in Chicago. You'll have a great evening of laughter amidst your own memories of those special items of clothing you own which have their telling stories to recall.

The sister-team of Nora and Delia Ephron have observant and fun-fulfilling eyes focusing in this play on the five actresses sitting on stools, connecting significant events in their lives and the clothes they wore.  What memories they bring to the laugh-filled audience members!

Ilene Beckerman wrote the book the Ephrons wrote the play about.  The cast, seemingly reading from scripts, is great.  Kudos to Roni Geva, Katie O'Brien, Michelle Shupe, Erica Watson, and Dawn Wells.

The scenic designer, Jo Winiarski, kept the stage simple to emphasize the actors quipping stories in their staccato styles.  The costumes (Nicole V. Moody), lighting (Jeff Croiter) and sound (Walter Trarbach) all handled their skills with expertise.

My husband, the ultimate critic of good and not-so-good plays, stayed awake and laughed his heart away the entire show. This is good.  So, while Love, Loss and What I Wore is still here in Chicago, I hope you join the event before the New Year arrives.

Evenings at 7:30 pm, Saturday at 8 pm.

GO!
