Whiplash, The Butcher and The Johngy?
Pro Championship Wrestling (PCW) left their south side base for the day and brought great wrestling action to Lincolnwood Fest
Yesterday, I wrote about a great Friday night of music, courtesy of Tributosaurus and Lincolnwood Fest. Today, Scott Beatty and I enjoyed a great afternoon of wrestling in the same spot at Lincolnwood Fest
Pro Championship Wrestling (PCW) is a southside based wrestling organization. They have spent the summer putting on shows at area fests and today, they brought their “A” game to Lincolnwood Fest, giving the fans 8 exciting matches.
The show had a little of everything, including Lincolnwood’s own Shawn Davis. Unfortunately, Davis was not victorious, but he put up a valiant fight and the fans were solidly behind him.

We also saw 4 title matches. December (Women’s champ), Gen Pop (tag-team champs), Whiplash (Midwest champ) and JTW (Heavyweight champ all defended their titles and left Lincolnwood still holding their belts.
Putting on a quality wrestling match is tough enough, but these talented performers also had to contend with the heat. The sweat of the wrestlers on them and on the mat increased the difficulty of virtually every move in the ring. Still, the athletic men and women of PCW rose to the challenge.

After the show, many of the wrestlers came back out to pose for pictures, sign autographs and mingle with the fans. There is not a whole lot of pro wrestling in this area. This was a rare opportunity indeed. I applaud the organizers of the Lincolnwood Fest for trying something new.
I have been to many PCW events on the south side and have always enjoyed their events. Today’s show was a great example of the quality product they turn out. PCW is certainly worth the short drive to wherever they might be appearing. Don’t wait until next year’s Lincolnwood Fest.
