Chicago Man Charged With Skokie Bar Stabbing

James I. Vechiola will face an attempted murder charge stemming from Friday incident at Skokie House Bar.

Friday night’s stabbing at Skokie House Bar has resulted in attempted murder charges for a Chicago man.

Police in Skokie announced Monday James I. Vechiola, 50 will face one count of aggravated battery in addition to the attempted murder charge, the Skokie Review reports.

Police said they arrived at the Lincoln Avenue establishment shortly after 10 p.m. to a call of two men fighting.

The victim, a 52-year-old Wheaton man, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and remains listed in serious condition.
