Chicago Pop Culture Con Coming to St. Charles
Chicago Pop Culture Con ics coming to Pheasant Run on November 24 & 25, with celebrities, athletes, vendors and a lot of events
The Chicago Pop Culture Con is coming to Pheasant Run in St. Charles on Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25. I have been looking forward to this since last year's event.
Last year, I was thrilled to meet Brian Colin, who was involved in the creation of so many video games I have enjoyed over the years, including Arch Rivals, my all-time favorite. There were also may other celebrities, including Chicago sports legends Bobby Douglass, Kurt Becker, Murray Bannerman and Paul Popovich. Any one of these celebrities would make the convention a hit, but to have all of them, plus so many more, made this an awesome time.
This year, the guest list is even more impressive. Heading the list are C.J. Ramone and Richie Ramone, two members of The Ramones, one of my favorite bands. Having these two together is a rare and awesome opportunity. The Ramones are a legendary act and this opportunity should not be missed.

Chicago sports legends will once again be a big part of the Chicago Pop Culture Con. Three-time NBA champ Craig Hodges and Super Bowl champ Jim Morrissey will be there. I have met hundreds of athletes, but somehow I have not met these two and I am excited about talking with these parts of Chicago sports championships.
The fun doesn't end there though. Also appearing are Butch Patrick (The Munsters), John Borowski (filmmaker), Scott Beaderstadt (artist), Phil Hore (author), Steve Michaels (wrestler), Jeremy Clark (artist) and many more. I always discover a few new authors, artists or other creators. They will be taking pictures, signing autographs and talking to the fans.

There are also gaming groups, cosplay groups, anime groups and other such organizations. They will be conducting panels, answering questions and generally providing entertainment for all. Sometimes the hardest part is trying to squeeze in all of the events and fun.
The cosplayers have really become a big part of Chicago Pop Culture Con. The costumes run the range from simple to elaborate, funny to serious and the costumers are of all ages. They are a cool extra feature and they are always happy to pose for pictures.
Vendors are a big part of the Chicago Pop Culture Con. Last year, I added some cool Aquaman stuff to my collection, as well as an awesome Coca-Cola sign. I wasn't even looking for anything, but these items were just too cool to pass. They now sit proudly in my home.
I really am looking forward to this event. On my professional side,I plan on interviewing several of the celebrity guests, but these interviews are just as much for my personal fun. Fun is the real key here. Chicago Pop Culture Con is a lot of fun.
This sounds like a huge convention, but when you are there, it has a close, friendly feel to it. It has a lot of stuff, but it is well-organized and well run. Expect full days of relaxing entertainment.
Check ChicagoPopCultureCon.com for more info on this great event. Of course, I will be “On the Beat” all weekend, talking to the celebs and attendees. The Chicago Pop Culture has cemented itself as a yearly convention stop.
