Chicago Sky Fight For Playoff Berth
With 5 games remaining, the Chicago Sky are fighting for a spot in the WNBA playoffs.

It is crunch time for the WNBA Chicago Sky. With 5 games left in the regular season, they find themselves 11-18, in 9th place, 2.5 games out of the playoff picture.
There is hope though. The Dallas Wings and the Seattle Storm are tied in 7th (and 8th) place and the Sky still plays both of them once. Unfortunately, the Sky also plays Minnesota, Connecticut and New York, who hold 3 of the top spots in the standings.
Dallas has 4 games left, one each against the Sky, New York, Washington and Connecticut. Seattle also has 4 remaining games, one each against the Sky, Washington, Phoenix and Atlanta.

Looking at the schedules and records, I see Seattle moving into 7th place. That leaves Dallas and the Sky. My hope would be that Minnesota has 1st place locked up by the time they play the Sky. Likewise, I’d like Seattle to have 7th place secured. If these teams aren’t playing for positioning, it certainly helps the Sky.
Of course, the Sky needs to win, preferably all five games, but definitely against Dallas and Seattle. The Sky has won 3 of their last 5.

No matter what happens, the Sky can be proud of the in-season comeback they have had. They started 1-3 and were 4-13 at one point. Since then, they have gone 7-5, which is solid. All things considered, it is actually impressive.
The stretch drive for the playoffs resumes Friday night as the Sky travels to Connecticut to face the 3rd place Sun, who are 19-10 They Sun are 3.5 games out of 1st, 2 games out of 2nd and 2 games ahead of 4th. It would be a bit of a tall order, but this is the perfect game for an upset victory by the Sky.
I’ll be ordering a pizza and watching this game on The U Too, starting at 6 pm. I’ll be rooting for Coach Amber Stocks and her team to finish strong.
