Child Abduction Attempt Reported In Skokie
Police are looking for a motorist who propositioned an 11-year-old walking home from school Thursday afternoon.

SKOKIE, IL — Police are investigating a report that a man tried to abduct a boy walking home from a Skokie elementary school Thursday. According to a community alert from Skokie police, the 11-year-old boy had left Fairview South School and was walking back to his home a few blocks away around 4:15 p.m. when he was approached by an unidentified man in a car.
"If you want to call your mom, get inside the car," the man yelled out of the car's window after pulling up alongside the boy.
The child ignored the man, ran home and told his parents about the incident.

The man was described as a roughly 40-year-old man of Middle Eastern descent with black and grey hair, a beard, light brown complexion and a heavy accent.
His vehicle, described as a dark colored four-door sedan, was last seen heading north on Laramie Avenue from Fairview Lane, where it had stopped to accost the boy.

The incident is under investigation by the Skokie Police Department, which asked the public to report any suspicious persons or vehicles, especially those matching the description provided, to 911.
