Dempster Street Lanes to Close for Water Main Work

Skokie, IL - Lane closures on Dempster Street near Crawford Avenue will begin Thursday as work begins on a water main on Crawford.

Eastbound and westbound lanes on Dempster will close down to one beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday and the closure could last for as long as one full week.

In addition, southbound turns from Dempster onto Crawford won't be allowed.

Detours will be in place during that time.

Southbound Crawford will continue to be detoured west on Dempster to Skokie Boulevard, then south to Oakton Street east returning to Crawford.

Northbound Crawford will continue to be detoured east on Oakton to McCormick Boulevard, then north to Church Street west returning to Crawford.
