Driver Shoots Passenger On Edens Expressway In Skokie: ISP

The 40-year-old Skokie man is accused of twice shooting a man last week while driving on I-94.

SKOKIE, IL — A Skokie man is accused of shooting a man who was riding in a car he was driving on the highway last week. Illinois State Police said the driver shot his passenger twice in the arm shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 as they headed northbound Edens Expressway near Church Street in Skokie.

Timothy Turner, 40, of Skokie, initially left the scene of the shooting, according to state police. He was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm after he turned himself in Tuesday at the Skokie Police Department.

The passenger, a 48-year-old man, told police he managed to escape from the car and call 911 after being shot. He was taken to Evanston Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
