Blues music legend Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, a longtime Skokie resident, will be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis next week.
The 81-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist talked to the Chicago Tribune recently about the long-overdue honor from The Blues Foundation and discussed his career in detail.
Clearwater is a past recipient of the village of Skokie award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. He’ll be enshrined in the Blues Hall during a May 4 ceremony at the Halloran Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis.
