Take a look at the cute cats up for adoption by the Community Animal Rescue Effort this week.

NORTH SHORE - The Community Animal Rescue Effort has cats and dogs available for adoption. The non-profit organization serves the North Shore region and North Side of Chicago. Every week, Patch highlights a set of cats and dogs (or in this case, two cats) available for adoption from C.A.R.E., which plans to open a shelter facility in Skokie in 2017.

Lady Chatterley is a sweet, cautious girl who, like her literary namesake, just wants to be loved. “I'll climb in your lap and even on your shoulder,” purrs this rare dilute calico with a slim, angular Oriental build.

Meet Sporty Spike

Spike lives up to his athletic name. “I have lots of energy and love to play and run around, but also can be a great lap cat once I settle down,” says Spike, a mostly white cat sporting a dashing black “toupee” and a long black tail. “I'm quite a character and will add lots of fun to any home.
