Honors Recital features talented ETHS student musicians

Some of the best musicians at Evanston Township High School will perform in the 18th Annual Student Honors Recital on Wednesday, January 9, in the ETHS Auditorium.  The 7pm concert is free to the public.

The 17 instrumental and vocal students were chosen from a field of 55 musicians who competed over two days of auditions last November. Chosen for the recital are freshmen Marga Medina (cello) and Andrew Santiago (flute); sophomores Michael Brown (violin), Paul Philbrick (piano), Ben Solomonow (cello), and Alex Wagner (cello); juniors Illan Ireland (cello), Lora Kelley (flute), Daniel Mills (clarinet), and Nat Mitchell (trumpet); and seniors Jonah Angulo-Hurtig (marimba), Kevin Fuller (contrabass), Natalie Vanderlaan (mezzo soprano), and Kaethe Wright-Kaufman (organ). In addition, five students will play in a brass quintet: Mitchell, Wright- Kaufman, Esther Espelund, Erin Reifler, and Emy Urban.

The ETHS Auditorium is handicapped accessible through the entrance on Dodge Ave. (1600 Dodge Ave.). Parking is available in the lot directly across from the Auditorium entrance.
