First-Of-Its-Kind Walmart Pickup Point Opens In Lincolnwood

From Serafin & Associates: Walmart will open the first-of-its-kind Lincolnwood Pickup Point on Wednesday, July 10th at 6840 N McCormick Blvd in Lincolnwood. The Lincolnwood Walmart Pickup Point will fulfill online orders for groceries, health and wellness items and products used for daily life like diapers, household cleaners, pet supplies and office supplies in a matter of minutes.

Today, Walmart hosted a ribbon-cutting at the Lincolnwood Pickup Point for associates and elected officials. Festivities included tours of the 40k square-foot facility, refreshments and giveaways from on-site vendors.

“We’re very excited to welcome Walmart’s first Pickup Point in Illinois to our village,” said Lincolnwood Village President Barry Bass. “Walmart’s commitment to bring this new innovative service to the Village of Lincolnwood will create new jobs and generate new revenue for the Village, while providing a great new service for our residents.”

How Lincolnwood Walmart Pickup Point Works:

1. Order and Choose Pickup or Delivery: Customers can complete their grocery shopping via the Walmart Grocery site or app or purchase general merchandise on Walmart.com and choose to pick up their order curbside - without ever leaving their cars - or have their order delivered to their home.
2. Personal Grocery Shoppers Fill the Basket: Once the order is placed, a specially trained Walmart Personal Shopper curates the order inside the Lincolnwood Pickup Point, selecting only the freshest and best products.
3. Pickup and Go: Customers who have chosen Pickup simply notify Walmart of their arrival at theLincolnwood Pickup Point via the app or call a designated number to alert an associate in the store and the Walmart Personal Shoppers will load the order in the customer’s vehicle.
4. Delivery: For those who choose delivery, a Walmart delivery partner retrieves the order from the Lincolnwood Pickup Point and delivers it right to the customer during their specified delivery window.

Pickup times are from 8 a.m.– 10 p.m. and delivery from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Customers will pay one fee, depending on how they shop. The pickup fee is $4.95, and between $7.95 and $9.95 for delivery, depending on time of day.

To celebrate the opening of the Lincolnwood Walmart Pickup Point, Walmart will be waiving pickup and delivery fees until September 15th. Customers can use the code SHOPFREE as many times as they want on purchases $50 or more when checking out to receive free Delivery or Pickup.

This is Walmart’s largest self-standing grocery and pickup delivery location in the U.S. This new facility represents an evolving retail shopping experience, where physical and digital meet seamlessly to better serve customers. This is the next step in Walmart’s cutting-edge retail innovation and part of the company’s plan to spend $87.5 million on the launch and expansion of new innovations and store remodels throughout Illinois this year.
