Goodbye, Jack's Restaurant. Hello, Starbucks.
Plans for shopping center with a Starbucks are in place to take shape where the iconic Skokie eatery stood for more than 50 years.

SKOKIE, IL - Residents of Skokie and surrounding areas were heartbroken this year when they learned of the closing of Jack’s Restaurant, a longtime Touhy Avenue hotspot owned by Jack Koretos.
But soak it up and make it a grande white chocolate mocha, because a Starbucks will be one of several businesses taking its place at GW Plaza if developers get their way.
Plans are in place for the shopping center to occupy Jack’s space in the 5200 block of Touhy Avenue and two adjacent properties that have been home to a realty building and auto parts shop, according to the Skokie Review. One-half the plaza would be located on the Jack’s site, but Starbucks is the only retailer announced thus far.
We also know it will be a drive-thru, so you can zip right by years of memories while ordering the venti caramel frappuccino.
