SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. An arrest is not evidence of guilt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

HOME BURGLARIES

  • Someone broke into a home in the 9300 block of Lincolnwood Drive between 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 24 and 12:48 p.m. on Jan. 25.
  • A residential burglary took place in the 3800 block of Kirk Street between 9:30 a.m and 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 24.
  • Someone broke into a home in the 8700 block of St. Louis Avenue between 2:30 and 6 p.m. on Jan. 28.

STOLEN CARS

  • A car reported stolen around 10:45 p.m. on Jan. 23 from the 1000 block of Old Orchard Court was later recovered.
  • An unlocked car was stolen from the 500 block of Birchwood Avenue between about 6 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 30.
  • A 2011 Jaguar was stolen from the parking lot of a car dealership in the 5100 block of Church Street around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 1.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY
An aggravated battery was reported in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center shortly before 1:15 p.m. on Jan. 24. No further information was immediately available from police.

SEX ASSAULT
A criminal sexual assault was reported at 3:20 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the 9600 block of Gross Point Road.

ATTEMPTED MURDER
A gunshot grazed the head of a minor in the 9100 block of Gross Point Road around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 31. Police classified the incident as a murder attempt. No further information was immediately available from police.

ROBBERIES

  • A robbery was reported in the 4700 block of Lyons Street between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 30. No further information was released.
  • A woman was robbed of $1,300 in cash and battered by one of her children in the 4800 block of Greenwood Street shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 2.

ARRESTS

Cuziya B. Dennison, 18, of the 8400 block of McCormick Boulevard, Skokie, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. in the 9800 block of Lawler Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly engaging in a fight.

Charlie Martinez, 20, of the 5200 block of West Wellington Street, Chicago, was arrested around 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 29 in the 3500 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

Jose J. Velasco, 40, of the 5000 block of Fargo Avenue, Skokie, and James G. Stavropoulos, 37,of the 900 block of Warren Avenue, Downers Grove, were arrested around 7 a.m. on Jan. 29 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with identity theft.

Tiara F. Pierre, 28, and Tamera Pierre, 21, both of the 8000 block of Kilpatrick Avenue, Skokie, were arrested shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 29 at her home and each charged with battery.

Moise T. Kasongo, 28, of the 5200 block of Washington Street, Skokie, was arrested around 8 p.m. on Jan. 29 at his home and charged with criminal damage to property.

Raul Figueroa, 18, of the 2100 block of North Mango Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 11 a.m. on Jan. 30 at his home and charged with burglary and home invasion in connection with an incident that day before in the 8700 block of St. Louis Avenue.

Abdulhakem A. Al-Muri, 59, of the 4900 block of North Kentucky Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the Old Orchard shopping center and charged with aggravated assault.

Luis R. Soto, 27, of the 3100 block of North Major Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 in the 7300 block of Cicero Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Torrey D. Harmon, 44, of the 2100 block of Church Street, Evanston, was arrested around 7 a.m. on Feb. 3 in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended or revoked license. In the same incident, Erik J. Villalpando Estrada, 35, of the 700 block of Lotus Avenue, Chicago, was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
